Having identified the need to offer an installation service for the fitting of roof extract fan units, Unitary was formed in 1975 working primarily for contractors in the heating/ventilation industry. In 1986 it was decided to reform the company to undertake the design and installation of building services for both commercial and industrial market. The work undertaken involved projects outside the scope of the domestic plumber and to small for the large national contractors, this niche proved to be ideal for a company offering personnel service, backed by experience installation engineers and was quickly established in and around the Bristol area. Following the installation of a system the company offered maintenance and repair cover which rapidly grew, taking on service work for other than their own installations.
